Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Material Control & Planning Manager. You will be fully responsible for managing the plant's material flow, ensuring seamless synchronization between production planning and material supply to achieve on-time delivery, optimize inventory levels, and minimize operational costs. You will be the critical link between procurement, production, warehousing, and sales planning, playing a vital role in production line stability and the company's cash flow health.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Material Planning :

Lead the development of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and detailed production scheduling, ensuring alignment with sales forecasts and customer demand.

Utilize MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to generate precise Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for raw materials, sub-assemblies, and components.

Monitor production plan execution, proactively identify and resolve potential issues to ensure On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets are met.

2. Material Control & Inventory Management :

Establish and implement effective inventory control strategies, setting and monitoring targets for raw materials, Work-in-Progress (WIP), and finished goods (e.g., safety stock, turnover ratios).

Organize regular cycle counts and physical inventories, analyze root causes of discrepancies, and drive corrective actions to maintain record accuracy.

Identify and manage obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory to optimize stock levels, accelerate turnover, and reduce capital tied up.

3. Supply Chain Coordination & Communication :

Act as the primary interface between Procurement and suppliers, tracking the status of critical materials (order placement, confirmation, and arrival) and mitigating supply shortage risks.

Collaborate closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality departments to address material exceptions (e.g., incoming defects, engineering change orders) to prevent production disruptions.

Liaise with customer planning teams to manage demand fluctuations, assess capacity impact, and provide robust solutions.

4. Team Leadership & Process Improvement :

Lead and manage the material planning team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.

Drive continuous improvement of planning and control processes, systems, and methodologies, championing Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen initiatives.

Prepare and analyze Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports (e.g., Inventory Turnover, OTD, Schedule Attainment) and present findings to senior management.

5. Systems & Data Management :

Act as a super-user for the Planning module within the company's ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and driving system optimization.

Utilize data analysis tools to perform in-depth analysis of demand forecasts, inventory health, and supply chain risks to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential :

Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in material planning, production planning, or supply chain management within the electronics manufacturing (EMS / OEM / ODM) industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial role leading a team.

Expert knowledge of MRP principles and extensive hands-on experience with ERP systems (proficiency in SAP MM / PP modules is highly preferred).

Deep understanding of the electronic components (e.g., ICs, PCBs, magnetics) supply chain landscape and market dynamics.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high proficiency in MS Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and data analysis tools like Power BI.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills to effectively collaborate with global teams and suppliers.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred :

APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a significant advantage.

Experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) or serving top-tier consumer electronics brands.

Experience in implementing or optimizing advanced planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, Kinaxis RapidResponse) is a plus.

Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies is desirable.
