American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery - LDRP position requiring night shifts, fetal strip reading, and a minimum of 2 years’ L&D experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care LDRP unit with 7 L&D beds and 8 postpartum bedsResponsible for the care of obstetric, neonatal, and postpartum patients with diagnoses such as hypertension and gestational diabetesPatient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines : 1 : 1 for magnesium, pitocin, or insulin drips; 1 : 3 for couplet careCommonly titrates pitocin, magnesium, and insulin dripsUnit staffed with CNAs and surgical techs; charge nurse works as an assigned nurseUtilizes Meditech for EMR and Philips monitors with Traceview / PIP EFM systemNights shifts (1845-0715) with call requirements that depend on staffing needsMandatory every third weekend and every other holiday coverageFloating required within skillset, including to Med / Surg and ER settingsBlock scheduling is available; no self-scheduling allowedMust be able to function independently and demonstrate critical thinking skillsRequired to adapt to change, communicate effectively, and follow established quality metricsPerm staff floats first, but floating to other hospital units may be required as neededOrientation consists of 3 unit-specific shifts; surgical maroon scrubs provided and required to be worn after changing on unitCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for eligibilityNo employees of CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past 12 months (full-time, part-time, or PRN) are eligibleAll requested time off must be submitted up front; additional RTO is not approved after submission\n \n Requirements\n
