Job Summary :
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive bid proposals, performing detailed material and labor takeoffs, and maintaining strong communication with vendors, general contractors, and project stakeholders. This position requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
The largest focus of our work is millwork. Although this role is not limited to millwork projects, candidates with experience and strong technical skills in Millwork estimating are a plus.
This role plays a key part in the success of our bidding process and requires a professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and represent our company with integrity and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare accurate and detailed material and labor cost estimates for commercial millwork projects.
- Prepare comprehensive estimates and perform material and labor takeoffs using industry-standard estimating software.
- Create and maintain comprehensive Excel spreadsheets for pricing and proposal development.
- Review and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications to perform precise quantity takeoffs.
- Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within established deadlines.
- Conduct follow-up on submitted bids and maintain organized records of proposal status.
- Collaborate closely with general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and architects to gather project information and confirm pricing.
- Proactively develop new business relationships in the construction and millwork industries.
- Maintain up-to-date pricing by communicating with vendors and suppliers for material quotes.
- Attend occasional job site visits, pre-bid meetings, or walk-throughs as needed.
- Assist with general office tasks, document preparation, and administrative support using Microsoft Office tools.
- Represent the company with professionalism, accuracy, and a strong commitment to quality.
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for all bidding projects.
Qualifications & Skills :
Previous experience in estimating.Prior experience in estimating Millwork, Architectural Woodwork, and Doors and Hardware is a plus but not required.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical specifications.Strong analytical and mathematical skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.Professional demeanor and commitment to high-quality customer service.Ability to be strategic / think critically and analytically.Familiarity with AutoCAD is an advantage.What We Offer :
