Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - $2,150 per week in Fredericksburg, VA

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : CVICU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift : 12 Experience : 2 years License : VA or compact license Certifications : ACLS, NIH Must-Have : - CRRT experience - Skills related to IABP, Impella, and EVD Drain Description : The unit specializes in the care of trauma patients, CV surgery patients, neurosurgery patients, and other complex surgical cases. It requires interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Common diagnoses include acute ventilator need, severe sepsis, unstable GI bleed, and multi-system organ failure. You will care for patients recovering from open-heart surgery and other complex procedures. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 2-3, and if floating to step-down, it can increase to 1 : 3-4. Weekend work is required every other week. First-time travelers are accepted. Floating within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals may occur based on volume and census. The facility supports interdisciplinary services, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Special procedures performed in the unit include conscious sedation at the bedside and various emergency interventions. Special equipment used includes ventilators, CRRT machines, and monitoring devices.
