Senior Manager, Platform Engineering - Test Automation Leadership
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our efforts in advancing testing automation within our Global Payment Network. As a Senior Manager, you'll spearhead the selection, implementation, and management of innovative test automation tools and frameworks, ensuring high product quality and efficiency throughout the software development lifecycle.
Your Responsibilities Will Include :
Leading and mentoring a team of test engineers and automation specialists, creating an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Providing training for Software Development Engineers, QA experts, and architects on quality assurance strategies, standards, tools, and processes, while enhancing the test processes within the Global Payment Network.
Driving creativity and efficiency by researching and implementing new testing methodologies and standards that align with current best practices.
Additional General Responsibilities :
Collaborating with product owners to gain insight into desired application capabilities and testing scenarios.
Consistently refining software engineering practices to enhance overall product quality.
Working across Agile teams to design, develop, test, and support technical solutions using a robust stack of tools and technologies.
Ensuring the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of your solutions.
Staying updated on technology trends, experimenting with new technologies, and participating in both internal and external tech communities while mentoring fellow engineers.
Fostering a culture of innovation by promoting cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, creative thinking, teamwork, and diversity.
Utilizing scripting languages such as Python, SQL, Ruby, and Groovy, along with container orchestration services like Docker and ECS, and configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform, in conjunction with AWS services.
Setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and effectively managing resources while furthering the development and refinement of test automation strategies.
Providing technical guidance on modern testing tools, automation techniques, and established best practices.
Collaborating closely with project managers, developers, QA teams, and various stakeholders to seamlessly integrate testing tools into the development process.
Identifying and mitigating risks related to testing processes and the adoption of tools, ensuring smooth project execution.
Applying a comprehensive understanding of test automation tools and frameworks, along with a familiarity in Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
Basic Qualifications :
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
A minimum of 8 years of experience with build and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, Artifactory).
At least 6 years of experience with AWS.
4 years of proven experience in people management.
Preferred Qualifications :
7+ years of experience with AWS.
4+ years of both functional and non-functional testing experience.
4+ years of experience with tools like Serenity, Playwright, Cypress, Squish, or JMeter.
2+ years of experience working in Agile environments.

The role will be based in Riverwoods, IL, with a salary range of $175,500 - $200,300, or in Chicago, IL, with the same salary range, or in McLean, VA, where the salary range is $193,000 - $220,300.
