Moran Towing Corporation (www.morantug.com) has an opportunity available for a Captain , for Moran San Juan, Inc . This is a full-time position. Moran San Juan, Inc., located in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Moran Towing Corporation. Moran Towing Corporation is one of the oldest companies in America with a history dating back to 1860, and offers a range of marine services.

Position Summary

The Captain, as a Supervisor, is a direct representative of Moran Towing Corporation and reports to the General Manager (GM). The Captain has absolute responsibility and authority with respect to the Vessel and crew. The Captain is the designated Vessel Security Officer (VSO) and Vessel Safety Officer.

Responsibilities

International Safety Management Code (ISM) Responsibilities

• Must be fully conversant with the Safety Management System.
• Implement the Company's Mission Statement / Safety and Environmental Policy and lead the crew in the observation of the Policy.
• Issue appropriate orders in a clear and simple manner.
• Verify safety and pollution activities.
• Review the Safety Management System and report its deficiencies to the OUM.
• Assume responsibility for external and internal audits.

Our target pay range for the Captain position is $44.00 - $48.00 per hour. This pay range represents Moran's commitment to pay transparency and is a reasonable estimate of possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. The final salary will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
