About the Agency : The Virginia Department of Military Affairs is a Commonwealth of Virginia state agency that provides professional and responsive support functions to the Adjutant General of Virginia, the Virginia National Guard, the Virginia Air Guard, and the Virginia Defense Force in order to ensure their ability to support and defend the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia. Purpose of Position : Provides support in implementing the operation and maintenance plan for National Guard facilities by assisting the Virginia Army National Guard in sustaining readiness and fulfilling our federal and state missions. This position covers all Virginia Army National Guard facilities across the Commonwealth of Virginia at the discretion of the Operations & Maintenance Branch Chief and Production Control Manager. The position can be called to rotate facilities with other Regional Operations Maintenance Managers (ROMMs) at any time at the discretion of the CFMO and Facilities O&M Branch Chief. This position will be responsible for the supervision of 12 part-time Trades Technicians within the assigned region. Job Duties : 25% - Preventative maintenance & repair; 25% - Facility inspections, contract Statement of Works (SOW), management of site Trades Technicians; 25% - SharePoint work order system and eVA procurement / management of Small Purchase Charge Card (SPCC); 15% - Mandatory training and Readiness Center (RC) use agreements; 10% - StructureWare / Continuum BAS / Generator and Ceteron Tank Monitoring System. Additionally, performs other duties as assigned. This position is responsible for covering the East Coast of Virginia.

Minimum Qualifications :

MUST be willing to travel up to 50% of the time throughout the East Coast of Virginia; Advanced knowledge of general construction practices and methods, mechanical trades, and job-costing; Knowledge of the practices and procedures of facilities maintenance and management; Considerable knowledge of construction and renovation principles; Knowledge of National Guard regulations; Knowledge of State procurement policies and contract administration; Skill to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Working knowledge in Microsoft Office products to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Ability to : review work for accuracy; analyze data to prepare for reports; make mathematical computations; Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships; A valid Driver's License and an acceptable driving record is required.

Additional Considerations :

Virginia Herbicide / Pesticide Certification preferred; Trades License in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing preferred; Prior experience as a supervisor.
