Key Responsibilities :

  • Strategic Leadership : Collaborate with management to develop and execute a regional business plan that fuels profitable growth.
  • Underwriting Excellence : Implement profit center strategies, adhere to underwriting guidelines, and ensure accurate premium booking, quoting, and binder preparation.
  • Relationship Building : Cultivate strong partnerships with retail brokers and clients through proactive outreach and regular travel.
  • Market Expansion : Aggressively market our products and services to brokers, expanding our footprint and driving new business opportunities.
  • Team Development : Mentor and support underwriting staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Account Management : Price accounts, prepare and review reports, and ensure thorough documentation for each account.
  • Performance Reporting : Complete underwriting self-audits, prepare weekly forecasts for the Home Office, and contribute to department initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement : Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, always striving for operational excellence.

What You Bring :

  • Proven expertise in underwriting construction accounts, with established broker / agent relationships.
  • 3-5 years of experience in multiline primary casualty and / or construction underwriting.
  • Strong marketing, business writing, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated leadership, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of insurance and finance principles, including WC, GL, and AL.
  • Commitment to professional developmentif you don't hold an industry designation, you'll be supported to enroll in a relevant course within your first year.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and disciplined, with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and management.
