General Responsibility – The Buyer / Planner is responsible for initiating and updating the production schedule to support the Master Schedule. Monitoring the production plan to comply with Customer Service needs and established inventory dollars and turn objectives and goals. The Buyer / Planner works directly with Operations and Suppliers to continuously improve current processes. This position will be the plant lead on resin buying and managing the procurement of most of the raw materials needed to support the production schedule.

Job Responsibilities :

Coordinate and communicate daily production schedules across all shifts.

Prioritize mold changes and mold repairs, assure schedule adherence.

Coordinate product changes, BOM changes, interdivisional inventory transfer, inventory adjustments, and accurate production reporting.

Coordinate material shortages with re-buyers, warehouse, and master schedulers.

Write and follow up on material dispositions.

Coordinate rework of assigned products.

Evaluate, plan and prioritize long and short-term production capacity to meet business objectives.

Enter job work orders into the MRP System.

Monitor inventory levels to ensure the proper dollars and turn rate is maintained.

Monitor and expedite responses to immediate customer service needs as communicated by Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Etc.

Advise Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, etc. about capability to produce / deliver products in a timely manner.

Work in a team environment to ensure schedule attainment and customer satisfaction is maintained.

Manage the transfer of inventory from one manufacturing site to another.

Secure purchased parts to support production plan.

Manage resin program for the facility.

Work with suppliers to minimize replenishment time and inventory levels.

Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree

1 - 3 years planning / scheduling / production experience

Strong analytical skills and understanding of MRP.

Good mathematical and detail-oriented skills

Proficiency with MS Office, to include Word, Excel, and Access

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

APICS certification and SAP experience is a plus.

Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours, as required by the role.
