Job description

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of cost accounting and inventory analysis within a highly innovative biotech manufacturing environment. This position will play a critical role in financial reporting, cost control, and strategic decision-making to support operational excellence and business growth. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of manufacturing and standard cost environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee cost accounting processes, including standard cost development, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory valuation.
  • Lead month‑end and quarter‑end close processes for all manufacturing cost‑related activities.
  • Analyze manufacturing variances, labor efficiency, and material usage to identify cost improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to enhance cost control and profitability.
  • Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts across multiple production sites.
  • Prepare and present detailed cost reports, forecasts, and analysis to senior leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies while driving process improvements.
  • Support audits and assist in developing robust internal controls over inventory and costing.
  • Manage and mentor cost accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5‑7 years of progressive experience.
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory management.
  • Advanced Excel and ERP systems experience (SAP or Oracle preferred).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience working cross‑functionally in a dynamic environment.
