Job description

Talascend is seeking a professional, skilled individual for our Rail Project Engineer position located in California.

The Project Engineer has expertise in a specific practice area. Independently evaluates, selects, and adapts techniques and procedures. Collaborates on multidisciplinary teams. Manages multiple moderate-sized projects or portions of major projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

Design various rail and civil engineering projects, including track and facilities.
Perform alignment, draining, utilities, at-grade crossings, and earthwork design using AutoCAD, Microstation, InRail.
Prepare cost estimates, review construction materials submittals, and create construction bid documents.
Conduct limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction.
Collaborate closely with regional project manager to ensure successful project deliverables.
Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat.

Experience managing multiple managers.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proactive, responsive, and able to work independently.

Required Education and Experience :

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

2-5 years of experience.

Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc. :

Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) is preferred.
