Job description

SUMMARY Fast paced construction company seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team.

Will be performing all aspects of construction estimating for projects across the US.Office Location : Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities will include attending pre-bid job walks, reviewing project documents, specifications, and plans to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements.

Will be responsible for preparing project estimates, issuing RFI’s throughout the bid process and submitting bids.

Will be assisting with project management, preparing construction schedules and generating work plans.

Applicants should be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Experience in construction estimating is required for this position, minimum of 5 years.

Project management experience is preferred but not required.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have experience with Microsoft Project.

Experience with HeavyBid estimating software a plus, but willing to provide training.

Applicants must provide their own transportation.

Must be willing to travel for site visits.

  • Attend pre-bid job walks and review project plans, documents, and specifications.
  • Prepare project estimates and submit bids.
  • Issue RFIs throughout the bid process.
  • Assist with project management, including scheduling and generating work plans.
  • Communicate effectively with project teams and clients to ensure bid accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS

    Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimating techniques.
  • Skill in interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to analyze project data and prepare accurate cost estimates under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate with internal teams and clients.
  • Preferred

  • Experience with HeavyBid estimating software.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Project management experience.

  • Ability to travel to construction sites, which may involve walking on uneven terrain and exposure to outdoor conditions.
  • Occasionally ascends / descends a ladder to service high reaching areas.
  • Visual acuity required for reading construction plans, specifications, and digital data.
  • DOT COVERED / SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates primarily in an office environment located in Colorado Springs, CO, with occasional travel to project sites across the U.S.

    Work may include exposure to active construction areas and outdoor environments.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.

    If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
