Associate Attorney - Real Estate Zoning & Land Use

Our client, a prestigious full-service law firm with over 150 years of legal excellence, is seeking a Senior Attorney to join its thriving Real Estate Practice Group. This is a unique opportunity to work with a dynamic team on sophisticated and high-impact projects involving land use, zoning, development, and related litigation.

Key Responsibilities :

Advise and represent clients in complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, and development.

Manage land use and zoning matters such as subdivisions, rezoning, variances, conditional use permits, and related appeals.

Represent clients before municipal and zoning boards, as well as in administrative and court proceedings when necessary.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents including purchase agreements, leases, and development agreements.

Conduct legal research and develop strategic solutions for land use and real estate challenges.

Collaborate with attorneys and professionals across practice groups to deliver high-quality, client-focused service.

Stay abreast of evolving laws and regulations impacting real estate and land use in New York.

Qualifications :

J.D. from an accredited law school; active membership in the New York Bar.

4+ years of real estate law experience, with an emphasis on land use and zoning.

Background in real estate litigation is a plus.

Demonstrated ability to handle complex real estate matters independently.

Exceptional research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.

A collaborative mindset and client-first approach.

A portable book of business is preferred and will be discussed confidentially.

Compensation & Benefits :

Competitive base salary : $200,000 – $250,000, commensurate with experience
