Position Summary

The Senior Data Scientist will play a key role in advancing Paradromics’ data science capabilities by designing and deploying machine learning and signal processing models that drive our neurotechnology systems. You will work with large-scale neural and behavioral datasets to uncover insights, develop predictive models, and enhance the performance of our brain–computer interface (BCI) platforms.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment passionate about applying data science to unlock new frontiers in neuroscience and human health.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models and statistical algorithms to analyze complex neural and behavioral data.
  • Collaborate with neuroscientists, software engineers, and hardware teams to integrate data-driven solutions into product development.
  • Build scalable data pipelines and tools for data acquisition, analysis, and visualization.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis and interpret high-frequency neural signals to identify actionable patterns.
  • Support development of real-time decoding algorithms for BCI applications.
  • Ensure scientific rigor, reproducibility, and documentation across all analytical workflows.
  • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to long-term data infrastructure and strategic planning for advanced AI applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Neuroscience, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or computational modeling, preferably within biomedical, neuroscience, or high-tech environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and related libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch).
  • Strong foundation in statistics, signal processing, and machine learning methodologies.
  • Experience working with time-series, biosignal, or neural data.
  • Strong skills in data visualization and communication (Matplotlib, Plotly, or Dash).
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Data Science, Computational Neuroscience, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience with neural recording technologies (EEG, ECoG, or intracortical data).
  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Knowledge of deep learning architectures for decoding or pattern recognition tasks.
  • Prior experience in neurotechnology, medical devices, or healthcare R&D.
  • Work Environment

  • Fully remote position (U.S.-based), with flexibility for collaboration across time zones.
  • Occasional travel may be required for team meetings, research collaborations, or conferences.
