Capital Construction Project Execution
The Capital Construction Project Execution Division, utilizing The Project Management Offices (PMOs) and the Specialist Services Offices (SSOs), provides consistent service and project execution to Weapons (WFO), Science Technology and Engineering (STE), Utilities (UI), Institutional Facilities (IF), D&D, and manages many Scopes of Work (SOW) under Special Services Offices (SSO). The PMOs and the SSOs are structured and staffed appropriately to support projects while considering their complexities, unique SOW, and various funding streams within the applicable WFO portfolio of projects. They are aligned and dedicated to their assigned Facility Operations Directorates (FODs) and Associate Laboratory Directorates (ALDs). This provides for a consistent partnering interface to strengthen working relationships, and share lessons learned. In this way, they can ensure that project development, planning and execution are uniform and consistent, thereby ensuring excellent project delivery throughout the Lab.
The Capital Construction Project Execution is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic leader for the WFO PMO. The successful candidate will provide the capabilities to the Associate Laboratory Director for Infrastructure and Capital Projects (ALDICP) and relevant Laboratory elements to successfully deliver excellence in safe execution of construction projects and assure performance against relevant prime contract elements. Specifically, the WFO PMO is expected to oversee / lead a group of deployed project managers responsible for successful execution of projects associated with the WFO FOD, meeting or exceeding LANL / WFO's mission goals. The WFO PMO will assist in all applicable high level ALDICP planning and execution activities. The work also includes all phases of Project(s) related planning, design, and construction activities in support of the Laboratory's excellence in Capital Projects execution. This position will report administratively to the Project Management Office in the Construction Project Execution Division.
Job duties include :
- Understanding and implementing Integrated Safety Management (ISM) line management responsibilities for the organization.
- Providing guidance and interpretation of policies and programs concerning project management.
- Formulating and recommending project management policies, plans, and programs for the orderly execution of projects.
- Assisting the execution groups to monitor the progress of active projects.
- Directing the activities of assigned staff.
- Ensuring that interdepartmental problems are resolved promptly.
- Fostering a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Interfacing with FOD and ensuring project requirements are understood.
- Ensuring that all project reporting is accurate and timely.

Strong experience in understanding and implementing Integrated Safety Management (ISM) line management responsibilities.Advanced knowledge and experience in the areas of project management, construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities.Advanced broad knowledge of industry standards.Ability to plan, organize, lead, and monitor a wide variety of team efforts to their successful completion.Ability to establish and maintain strong and effective customer relations.Proven leadership and management ability.Advanced communications skills (both written and verbal).Advanced experience in business development strategy.Advanced understanding of government related finances / funding, applicable data analysis with detailed related planning concepts and interfaces.Desired skills :
Experience working with the Department of Energy (DOE) at headquarters or field office level, or with state and federal regulators.Experience teaming with Facility and programmatic customers on project strategic planning efforts.Experience reporting to and communicating with multiple supervisory organizations.Previous successful WFO experience is a plus.Proven leadership in process improvements at LANL.Q Clearance.Training / certifications :
Suitable professional certifications, such as, Project Management Professional, Construction Management Professional, and / or Professional Engineer is desirable.The position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 15 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.Notes to applicants :

Position commitment :
