Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil 3D Designer in one of the below posting locations. In this role, candidates will work with the Energy & Utilities team in the drafting, design, permitting and construction administration of industrial projects. Focus will primarily be in oil & gas, wind, solar and utility projects.

Posting Locations for this role : Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Frisco, TX; Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center); Indianapolis, IN; Lisle, IL; or St. Louis, MO

Job Activities :

Preparing topographic and civil alignment / profile and utility drawings, as well as occasional work on other engineering discipline’s drawings.

Preparing civil based drawings, as well as occasional facility and / or process piping drawings.

Preparing easement exhibits with guidance from a licensed surveyor.

Specific Requirements include :

Associates or Technical Degree in Computer Aided Drafting / Design, or similar field

10+ years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings.

Flexibility to perform design, drafting and recognize the importance of meeting stringent deadlines in an often fast-paced environment

Ability to effectively plan & manage time commitments on multiple concurrent projects

Candidate should be team-oriented, highly motivated with a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work well with minimal direction

Strong understanding of CAD standards, features and annotation styles, line styles, and drawing setup

Communicate effectively with a variety of project team members

Desired Experience includes :

Oil & Gas or renewable energy industry experience

MicroStation experience

Experience processing survey data

Experience processing LiDAR scan data and point clouds

Bluebeam

Industrial mechanical piping experience
