Job Summary :
\nJoin our team at MetroHealth Main Campus as an Invasive Cardiology RN and provide critical care for patients undergoing complex interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. This role involves caring for critically ill patients during interventional cardiology and endovascular procedures, including preoperative and postoperative care, as well as advanced monitoring and sedation. The RN will be part of a fast-paced environment requiring prompt response to emergencies, including STEMI calls with a 30-minute alarm response time.

Key Responsibilities :
\n \n
Monitor and manage patients undergoing invasive cardiac and endovascular procedures.\nProvide preoperative and postoperative nursing care, ensuring patient stability and safety.\nUtilize advanced hemodynamic monitoring techniques, including IABP and Impella devices.\nManage ventilator support and sedation protocols effectively.\nRespond swiftly to emergent situations, including STEMI calls, with a 30-minute callback window.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.\n\n
Physical Environment :
\n \n
Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently throughout shifts.\nCapable of standing for extended periods during procedures.\nVisual acuity sufficient for normal vision correction.\nNormal hearing range, with or without correction.\nPhysical ability to lift up to 250-300 lbs. with assistance and push / pull up to 500 lbs. with assistance.\nExposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, chemicals, and cleaning agents as part of the healthcare environment.\n\n
Required Skills and Experience :
\n \n
Proven experience in a Cath Lab setting, including preoperative / postoperative care.\nProficiency in advanced hemodynamic monitoring, such as IABP and Impella devices.\nExtensive ventilator management expertise.\nStrong understanding of sedation protocols and patient monitoring during high-risk procedures.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure and respond rapidly to emergencies.\n\n
Preferred Education & Experience :
\n \n
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher preferred.\nMinimum of 2+ years of recent experience in cardiac catheterization or invasive cardiology nursing preferred.\nPrior experience with EMI devices, such as IABP and Impella, highly advantageous.\n\n\n
