The Skilled Crafts and Trades Manager II is responsible for supervising journeyman level skilled tradesmen in the completion of work orders received in one or more of the skilled craft shops. Approving time interviewing applicants conducting performance reviews. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency / institution policy. On-call after hours during emergencies and inclement weather.

Regular reliable and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty as is the ability to create and maintain collegial harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications :

Completion of required education or training along with the required license or certification in the following skilled trades : Journeyman Electrician according to ACAJourneyman Plumber according to ACAand HVAC Mechanics according to ACA

The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma

At least seven years of progressive experience in the licensed skilled trade area relevant to the position

At least two years experience in a leadership role

Valid Drivers License

Preferred Qualifications :

At least eight years of progressive experience in the licensed skilled trade area relevant to the position

At least two years supervisory experience

Knowledge Skills & Abilities :

Knowledge of the principles practices methods and safety precautions in one or more of the skilled trades.

Knowledge of the laws regulations and codes relating to one or more of the skilled trades.

Knowledge of management and supervisory principles and techniques.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints manuals schematics building plans and / or work drawings.

Ability to supervise skilled trades workers and / or supervisors.

Ability to plan and coordinate all phases of work projects in one or more of the skilled trades.

Skill in the use and care of tools and machinery used in one or more of the skilled trades.
