Position : Patient Access Representative

About the Role : As a Patient Access Representative at MaineGeneral Health you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless financial clearance registration and clerical processes for direct and scheduled patient admissions. Your responsibilities will involve interacting with patients and their families providing a warm welcome facilitating check-ins for services and ensuring accurate information for clinical staff.

Responsibilities :

• Perform financial clearance registration and clerical duties related to point-of-service (POS) services.
• Meet with patients or caregivers to exchange necessary information explain processes and address concerns or questions.
• Communicate effectively with unit staff and other relevant personnel to exchange information and determine placement.
• Verify insurance benefits obtain precertification / authorization and ensure verification of medical necessity.
• Determine and accept required payments including co-pays deductibles and coinsurance or refer to financial counselors for follow-up.
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of all necessary demographic billing and clinical information into the registration system.
