Job Title : Senior Buyer

Pay Rate : $25-$27.50 / hour
Job Type : 5 months contract with possible extension
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Buyer to join our Financial Services Division in Chicago. In this hybrid onsite role, you will be responsible for securing goods and services, ensuring optimal quality at the most cost-effective pricing, and maintaining vendor relationships to support the companys purchasing and sourcing goals.
This position plays a key role in managing purchase requisitions, auditing vendor files, handling special orders, and supporting Oracle Cloud purchasing and e-procurement systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders while ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
- Run system queries and conduct audits of vendor files to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Handle special and rush order requests to meet business needs.
- Prepare, submit, and analyze RFQs for non-contracted goods exceeding $250K.
- Collaborate with vendors to manage and update online product catalogs.
- Research and resolve Help Desk Oracle Cloud tickets, updating resolutions in the system queue.
- Oversee all aspects of Oracle Cloud Purchasing and E-Procurement modules.
- Source and process requisitions into purchase orders, dispatching them to vendors.
- Manage denied purchase orders, cancellations, and requisition errors.
- Verify vendor eligibility using sanction systems before onboarding.
- Maintain and continuously audit Oracle Cloud vendor files for duplicates and errors.
- Review and enter purchase order acknowledgments and Return to Vendor (RTV) transactions.
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and help implement purchasing best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to remote purchasing staff regarding processes and policies.
- Assist in training users on Oracle Cloud purchasing functions and requestor processes.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve issues such as delivery delays, pricing discrepancies, and product quality concerns.
- Perform maintenance and data entry for punchouts, restricted, and special-order items in Oracle Cloud.
- Support the development of sourcing policies, procedures, and supplier diversity programs.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, including HIPAA, Diversity, Corporate Integrity, and other regulatory policies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and provide regular updates to management on key purchasing activities and initiatives.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or processing purchase requisitions / orders.Experience in contract negotiation and purchasing procedures.Proficiency with automated purchasing systems.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proficient in MS Word and Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Preferred Qualifications
