About This Role Shop Foreman
We are looking for a talented Shop Foreman that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our brand new MJ Drilling Fab Shop. You'll coordinate, lead and practice safe work habits and promote a positive safety culture as you create and maintain tooling for our team.
What You'll Do
- Supervises shop welders / fabricators engaged in support of field construction activities
- Ability to see a full fabrication project through from start to finish
- Demonstrates safety leadership by supporting the implementation and management of the MJE Safety Management System
- Promotes proactive and preventive safety activities by observing, analyzing, encouraging safe work behaviors and correcting unsafe conditions
- Integrates safety into work plans, establishes safety goals, reinforces safety policies and procedures, supports safety training, and monitors safety metrics
- Coordinates with vendors for parts that need to be fabricated outside of the shop
- Consults routinely with field supervision regarding equipment / tooling needs
- Organizes and prioritizes jobs as they come into the shop
- Tracks and reports equipment / tooling inspection and repairs
- Supports and coaches employees, provides feedback to encourage learning and creates awareness, sets priorities and focuses on continuous improvement
- Works with project managers to discuss costs for shop repairs
- Leads and conducts daily safety / job meetings
- Ability to travel to jobsites as needed
