Job description

We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Test Technician to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities :

You will perform various mechanical, electrical, hydrostatic, and gas leak tests on large rotating pieces of equiipment like :

  • stators, rotors, stators-windings, cans, jackets, thermal barriers, thermowells, casings, terminal boxes, pumps, and generators
  • supporting our manufacturing operations. Additionally, you may install facility related equipment, like pumps, motors, and mechanisms, and operate such equipment on test after initial setup has been done.

Your Challenge :

Collect and summarize all data and compare results to specification requirements, and where necessary, take corrective action to assure accurate test results. Report results and deviations to Test Engineer or Supervisor.

Maintain test records and logbook for

  • mechanism, hydrostatic and leak tests.
  • Operate leak test equipment
  • and ovens to dry component parts, such as rotors and stators.

  • Perform resistance and electrical tests on pumps, motors,
  • and components.
  • Maintain inventory needed for testing fixtures and equipment.

    Collect and test water samples for resistivity and pH.

    Set up test facilities and prepare equipment , such as commercial motors, and pumps for operational testing. This may include installing and removing of test articles from the facility.

    Calibrate and adjust test instrumentation used , such as pressure gauges and Helium Leak detectors, to assure accurate test data results.

    Calibrate computer instrumentation , such as pressure transducers.

    Requirements :

    High School graduate with two years of technical school, or the equivalent.

    3+ years’ experience with mechanical or electrical testing. Experience in mechanical fields, electrical, electronics, or equivalent will be considered.

    Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens and be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals.

  • Preferred Skills / Experience :
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

    Experience working with and adhering to written work instructions

    Experience in a manufacturing environment
