Supplier Quality Manager (Steel)

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Supplier Quality Manager to drive quality improvement with suppliers, lead coaching initiatives, and ensure compliance with company standards. This role requires a proactive approach to mentoring suppliers, implementing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This position requires up to 75% of domestic travel.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier coaching programs to enhance quality processes, defect prevention, and performance optimization.
• Develop and implement training for suppliers on quality control methodologies, 8D problem-solving, and root cause analysis.
• Provide hands-on coaching to suppliers on material and component specifications, ensuring adherence to requirements.
• Act as a mentor and consultant, guiding suppliers through process improvements and compliance initiatives.
• Work with suppliers to establish corrective and preventive action plans, ensuring sustainable quality improvements.
• Conduct supplier audits and follow-up coaching to ensure long-term success in meeting company standards.
• Implement supplier development roadmaps, tracking progress toward zero defects and quality excellence.
• Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to identify, approve, and onboard new suppliers with strong quality capabilities.
• Support supplier innovation and improvement projects that drive cost efficiency and process optimization.
• Assist with new product launches and material / component qualifications, ensuring supplier readiness.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, holding suppliers accountable for quality performance and growth.
