About The Position

Previous charge experience required

Ability to circulate for C-sections

Experience with Epic charting system required

Description :

This is a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit.

The unit has an average delivery volume of 2100 deliveries per year.

The unit accepts transfer-ins and has a maternal-fetal medicine outpatient consultation.

The obstetricians manage patient care, and only family practice will have midwife coverage.

The unit is not structured as an LDRP.

The facility has a Level 3 NICU.

The nurse is required to circulate for C-sections.

Travelers must have experience in high-risk delivery and postpartum care.

The unit has a staffing schedule of 4x12 nights with a requirement for floating to maternity and mother-baby units.

Every other weekend coverage is required.

Patients typically range from neonates to adults.

Daily admissions and procedures include various labor evaluations, vaginal and operative deliveries, and postpartum care.

Special skills required include amnioinfusion, postpartum hemorrhage management, and neonatal assessment.

The nurse will also engage in discharge teaching for parents and infant care education.

Interdisciplinary support is available through various teams, including IV teams, pharmacy, and social services.

Special equipment and procedures include rapid transfusion protocols, cerclage placements, and monitoring technologies.

Candidates must demonstrate teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
