As an engineering leader, you will focus on developing the team around you while delivering robust, scalable technology infrastructure that serves employees across international markets throughout the entire Hire to Retire employee lifecycle.

You will bring your technical expertise to drive teams to success around feature delivery and management for complex global employee systems, with particular emphasis on payroll operations and compliance. You are as enthusiastic about building a world‑class engineering team as you are about solving challenging technical problems. You will help shape, direct and execute our technology vision, blending customer‑centric principles, industry‑changing innovation, and reliable delivery of new technologies.

What You Will Do

  • Drive the technical vision for comprehensive global Employee Success capabilities across all employee lifecycle stages, with specialized expertise in payroll systems.
  • Build and evolve large‑scale distributed systems to reliably process billions of data points across the complete employee technology stack.
  • Lead development of cloud‑native platforms on public cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Azure) with focus on scalability, security, and compliance.

Team Development & Management

  • Build, lead, and scale multiple engineering teams (2+ teams) focused on Employee Success infrastructure and applications, with specialized teams dedicated to global payroll systems.
  • Recruit and attract top engineering talent with expertise in enterprise employee systems, payroll operations, international compliance, and large‑scale data processing.
  • Invest in continuous employee development by mentoring and coaching engineers and technical leads on complex employee technology challenges.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and customer focus.
  • System Operations & Reliability

  • Ensure high availability and performance of mission‑critical employee technology services serving global workforce across international markets.
  • Proactively identify reliability and data quality problems, particularly in payroll infrastructure, and drive comprehensive remediation processes.
  • Drive execution and delivery by collaborating with cross‑functional teams, architects, product owners, and engineers across global time zones.
  • Platform Integration & Development

  • Drive integration strategies across the complete Employee Success technology stack, including Workday HCM, Workday Payroll, ADP Payroll systems, and regional payroll solutions.
  • Implement robust data processing pipelines, API integrations, and automation tools supporting comprehensive employee operations.
  • Build frameworks, infrastructure automation tools, workflows, and validation platforms supporting international compliance.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Product Management, UX, and business stakeholders to translate employee experience and payroll business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with compliance, legal, and HR teams to ensure systems meet international regulatory requirements and data privacy standards.
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture to align Employee Success technology roadmap with broader organizational technology strategy.
  • What We Are Looking For

We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and technically excellent Engineering Director with a passion for building innovative Employee Success technology solutions in a complex, international environment.
