Transportation Attendant (Bus Monitor)
Transportation Attendants (Bus Monitors) are responsible for monitoring and assisting students while they are being transported to and from school. Transportation Attendants report to the Principal / Headmaster of the assigned school. SPED Cab Monitors are assigned to monitor and assist students with special needs while they are being transported to and from school. The primary responsibility of a Transportation Attendant (Bus Monitor) is to attend to the general supervision of all students on the vehicle. Transportation Attendants (Bus Monitors) are also responsible for performing other related duties as directed by their supervisors. Ability to operate a wide variety of safety equipment and adaptive equipment on buses, including wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, Child Safety Restraint Systems, and other safety equipment, in a safe and effective manner. Move a wheelchair on and off the bus as needed.
Qualifications - Required : Must be 18 years of age or older High School Diploma or GED Ability to enter / exit bus via steps repeatedly Must live in the City of Boston or be willing to move to the City of Boston if hired. Ability to lift 25-49 lbs Proficiency in English
Qualifications - Preferred : Previous experience working in a school setting and or with school aged children is preferred CPR / First Aid Certified
