Summary
We have a Senior Controls Engineer position available in Albuquerque, NM. This role provides leadership in delivering automation systems for a variety of industries. The position requires technical proficiency with PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms and includes customer interaction, team leadership, system design, programming, and commissioning of control systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and commissioning of industrial automation systems, including PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA solutions
- Develop control system architecture, component selection, schematic diagrams, and system documentation
- Program controllers using Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and other languages
- Develop process visualization (HMI / SCADA), databases, and historical data reporting systems
- Design, detail, and implement fiber, wired, and wireless industrial networks using protocols such as Ethernet / IP, Profinet, and Modbus
- Provide technical leadership on standards for graphics, alarming, and scale-up
- Lead and mentor lower-level engineers and technicians; act as technical lead or Project Manager on smaller projects
- Troubleshoot field devices, equipment, and automation systems
- Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring project profitability
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Control, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science10+ years of Controls Engineer experienceProficiency with PLC hardware / software platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, and ModiconProficiency with HMI / SCADA platforms such as ICONICS Genesis64, Wonderware ArchestrA System Platform, GE CIMPLICITY, GE iFIX, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View, Schneider, and SiemensKnowledge of DCS platforms such as Emerson DeltaV is a plusExperience with industrial networks, fiber / wired / wireless systems, and industrial protocols (Ethernet / IP, Profinet, Modbus)Programming skills in Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, VBA, .NET, and SQLExperience with Power BI, Grafana, and API integrationExperience designing electrical schematics, power distribution (480VAC), and control panels with NEC complianceField device / equipment troubleshooting and job estimating experienceMust be local to Albuquerque, NM or have established ties to the areaNice to Have
