Teen Drop-In Center Specialist

$15 / hr

Part-time

This is a part-time recreational position and is responsible for the teen center’s overall site safety and supervision during operational hours, diligent check-in and out of participants, facilitation of planned games, activities, and / or on-site presentations while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants. This position may also assist with the RNP mentorship grant program.

Essential Functions :

• Responsible for creating, promoting, and occasionally facilitating daily / weekly events and activities.
• Supervise participants and activities at the site.
• Check in / out of participants and equipment.
• Performs cleaning and organization of the center daily.
• Helps to take accurate inventory of site supplies.
• Works to build relationships with and mentor participants.
• May help to facilitate special events or programs at the center.
• Responsible for timely communication with participant / parents when / if necessary.
• Investigates and reports accidents and incidents per county policy / procedure and as required.
• Responsible for the safety and security of children at the facility; maintains safe conditions at the facility.
• Communicates regularly with supervisory staff.
• May assist with interventions when negative behavior is displayed and help facilitate conversations, mentoring and / or corrective actions to reinforce positive behaviors.
• Performs related work as required.
• Assist RNP staff with the administration and execution of the mentorship grant.

Education and / or Experience :

A high school diploma.

2 years of experience working with youth and youth programming in schools or the community
