Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details : \n

  • Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critical care patients in ICU / CCU setting
  • \n

  • Critical care experience in a hospital setting required
  • \n

  • Valid BLS and ACLS from the American Heart Association required
  • \n

  • Valid professional nursing license within the state of practice or nurse licensure compact required
  • \n

  • Compact license requires verification of suicide training and demographic data via Nursys e-Notify
  • \n

  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans
  • \n

  • Prepare and administer medications orally, subcutaneously, and through IV routes
  • \n

  • Record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions according to policy
  • \n

  • Provide basic bedside care and patient education as prescribed by physician
  • \n

  • Record patient medical information and vital signs accurately and timely
  • \n

  • Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient condition
  • \n

  • Take samples for lab work and evaluate / interpret lab reports
  • \n

  • Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments
  • \n

  • Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol
  • \n

  • Apply hemodynamic, phlebotomy and IV protocols
  • \n

  • Monitor and adjust specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, respirators, ventilators, and oxygen pumps
  • \n

  • Interpret and record electronic displays such as central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, and cardiac rhythms
  • \n

  • Monitor catheters, leads and tubing for proper placement and functioning
  • \n

  • Initiate corrective action when monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology
  • \n\n
