Our client, a leading Pacific Northwest utility provider committed to public service and environmental preservation, is looking for a Database Administrator for their Vancouver, Washington location. This position will provide database administration support for all systems operating on the Control Center Network (CCN) and will act as part of a team responsible for supporting CCN Database Management Systems (DBMS) and Business Intelligence systems utilizing SQL Server Suite tools and Application Integration.

Overview

Role : Database Administrator (Hybrid). Location : Vancouver, WA. Employment type : Contract (one-year renewable). Responsibilities include database administration, security, performance tuning, reporting, and support for CCN DBMS and BI systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Create complex stored procedures from user requirements
• Provide performance tuning for SQL stored procedures
• Mine data from various databases to support Transmission Operations and produce custom reports for customers
• Develop reusable reports for routine processes and quick one-off reports as needed (e.g., responses to on-site auditors)
• FISMA and NERC CIP related activities for database security and management per established processes
• Administer and support Enterprise SQL Server 2019+ and MySQL 5.x+, Windows Server 2016+
• Data analysis and design; automation using PowerShell, WMI, SMO, and .Net
• Remote server monitoring; reporting requirements gathering and customization
• Develop and document approved processes and procedures; ensure compliance with FISMA, NERC-CIP, NIST, and related regulations
• Analyze Windows Server / DBMS / CCN environments for processing and performance tuning
• Provide developer and end-user support for databases (views, procedures, performance tuning, troubleshooting)
• Maintain Windows Server privileges and perform application installation, tuning, and troubleshooting as needed
• Recommend effective consolidation strategies and participate in project / technical meetings as a DBA representative
• Communicate with technical and business stakeholders via email, documentation, and presentations
• Maintain filing systems, files, emails, and records in compliance with requirements
