Structural Steel Estimator
Pay : $24.00 / HR DOE
Hours : Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM
Location : West Valley
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of steel fabrication and erection for commercial projects. We use industry leading software such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office products, Peddinghaus Raptor, SDS / 2, and Tekla. Due to the unique nature of our work, on-the-job training will be provided to the Candidate.
Responsibilities :
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to accurately estimate the quantities of materials, labor, and equipment required for each project.
- Determine the cost of steel fabrication and erection using current market prices and established rates for labor and equipment.
- Prepare detailed estimates, including material takeoffs, pricing, and labor and equipment costs.
- Work with the project management team to develop project budgets and schedules.
- Communicate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability information for materials and services.
- Prepare and submit bids in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in bid review meetings with Upper Management to finalize bid.
- Continuously improve the estimating process by incorporating new technologies and methodologies.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements :
Strong analytical and mathematical skills. The ideal candidate should have an understanding of math including Basic Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Time management / Attention to detail are a must.Knowledge of industry standards and codes for steel fabrication.Ability to read and understand technical documents / drawings from multiple disciplines.Experience in structural steel estimating is a plus but not required.Possess a proven track record of speed and accuracy in performing high quality material take-offs under ongoing tight and demanding deadlines. Must have strong knowledge and capabilities with Preconstruction, Bid-Level Proposals and Change Order processesCandidates should expect to spend approximately six hours per day sitting and working at a computer. The remaining time would be spent walking or standing, with occasional handling of rolls of structural drawings.
