Summary of Job Duties : The Patient Care Technician (PCT) performs patient care tasks and duties which do not require a license. The PCT is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary patient management team in Float Pool.

The Float Pools is a unit with no physical boundaries, but still maintain the integrity of each specialized team. The FP techs have the opportunity to work on all of the Medical / Surgical, Oncology, Women & Infants, and Critical Care areas.

Salary offered commensurate with experience.

All Float Division PCTs receive a bonus of 25% for regular, worked hours floating to the different areas. The Float pool team is a dynamic group of staff who meet the challenge and flexibility of a new assignment every day.Qualifications :

Responsibilities :

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse(s) and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.

Employees in this role must be fitted for, capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks, Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
