Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will support one or more experienced engineers with civil construction duties and shadow their day-to-day actions that may include the following : Attend meetings and weekly MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) meetingsReviews and tracks design packages’ status, generates, and follows up with the request for information (RFIs) or field design change requestsAttends pre-shift meetings and weekly MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) meetingsInspects field work to verify monthly payment request from subcontractorsCoordinates and verifies concrete wasteResponsible for 4-week-look-ahead schedule for self-perform work or as provided by subcontractorGenerates weekly or monthly reports related to the progress of the projectGenerates permit modifications or close current permits and tracks its statusTicket collections and tracking (concrete – asphalt – dirt)Drafting and compiling daily reportsAssists in the preparation of detailed requisitions for material purchase, services, and subcontracts.Assists in the preparation and issuance of specifications, data sheets, and other construction documentsEstablish and maintain relationships with clients in order to define their needs, explain technical information, concepts or study results.Verify and complete request for proposals, estimates and other technical documents.Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Construction Management or Engineering with a minimum GPA of
  • Must be able to complete an internship in 2022 at our Virginia Beach location, minimum 20 hours a week
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft products such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge and / or experience in Mechanical or Electrical construction or engineering
