Altus specializes in delivering comprehensive engineering, prototyping, testing, and production capabilities, including design, fabrication, assembly, and compliance support to our Government customers. The Sheet-Metal Worker / Fabricator will be responsible for performing non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity on project articles, components, and support structures and equipment.

We are looking for an individual that can use their Sheet-Metal Worker / Fabricator experience to add value and make a significant impact as a Sheet-Metal Worker / Fabricator to NAVAIR for this opportunity.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Perform as a member of a project work team on project article preparations, modifications, assembly, setup, and teardown using fabrication shop machinery, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly operations to accomplish project requirements according to approved design tolerances.
• Perform precision sheet-metal fabrication for modifications to, or manufacturing of, unique equipment, systems, and structures.
• Perform inspection and acceptance checks at project milestones and upon completion of project assignments to ensure technical adequacy.
• Fabricate unconventional, one-of-a-kind items, systems, apparatus, and structures in support of experimental project articles.
• Plan and conduct work from blueprints, drawings, plans, and / or technical publications.
• Perform maintenance, repair, and updates on specialized equipment and systems unique to WOLF operations.
• Perform other tasks as required to support customer requirements.

Qualifications :

Work Conditions :

Conditions will vary. Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with a fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120. The position will include : 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Overtime is a requirement of this position.
