Job Description
We are seeking an Injection Molding Design Engineer to join our engineering team who will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing molds for manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality production and cost efficiency. This role requires expertise in mold design, proficiency in CAD software, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, particularly injection molding.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop precision molds for injection molding, or other manufacturing processes using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product designers, manufacturing engineers, and quality assurance, to ensure mold designs meet product specifications and production requirements.
- Perform mold flow analysis and simulations to optimize mold performance, reduce defects, and improve cycle times.
- Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for mold fabrication.
- Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of molds to ensure functionality and durability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mold-related issues during production, recommending design improvements as needed.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols.
- Stay updated on advancements in mold design technology and manufacturing processes to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.5 years of experience in mold designProficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks)Strong understanding of injection molding processes, materials, and mold manufacturing techniques.Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and creating technical drawings.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external vendors.Preferred Qualifications
