Position Overview

The Bid Estimator is responsible for managing all inbound job requests, preparing accurate and comprehensive bid estimates, and ensuring all proposals align with project specifications. This role requires strong communication skills, as the estimator will work directly with clients to review, clarify, and confirm bid details, ensuring each estimate is complete, precise, and aligned with client expectations. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple bids and project timelines simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inbound job requests, receive, review, and organize all incoming project inquiries, plans, and scope details.
• Review architectural plans, design packets, and schedules to identify the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed bid estimates by developing accurate and comprehensive estimates based on project drawings, specifications, materials, labor requirements, and timelines.
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify project details, answer questions, and ensure all bid components are understood and approved.
• Verify that all information provided by clients aligns with project expectations and identify any gaps, inconsistencies, or missing details.
• Material & Labor Analysis - Research and determine appropriate materials, finishes, hardware, and labor needs to produce precise cost calculations.
• Maintain Organized Bid Tracking Track all active bids, revisions, and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of proposals and follow-ups.
• Update Pricing & Cost Databases - Keep material costs, vendor pricing, and labor rates current to ensure estimates reflect real-time accuracy.
• Revisions & Change Orders - Update estimates and documentation as needed when project changes occur or additional details are provided.
• Quality & Accuracy Assurance - Double-check all calculations, measurements, and assumptions to ensure the highest level of precision.
  

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction estimating experience, preferably in finish carpentry or millwork.
• Must have experience with an estimating Software (Stack or equivalent).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and interior design documents
• Strong Computer Skills with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Strong blueprint and construction document interpretation skills.
• Strong math and analytical skills
• High level of organization, accountability, problem-solving, and proactive decision-making.
