Job Title : Senior Plant Designer Location : Ogden, UT (Onsite) Contract Type : 1-Year Contract Compensation : $75–$90 / hour Per Diem & Mobilization : Provided for candidates traveling over 50 miles from the site About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Senior Plant Designer to join our team in Ogden, UT. This is a full-time, on-site position supporting a major Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. Air Force (USAF) program focused on modernizing ground-based infrastructure systems. You’ll work hands-on with SmartPlant 3D (S3D) software to plan, model, and develop piping, HVAC, and equipment layouts for large-scale industrial and defense-related facilities. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and thrives in a collaborative engineering environment. What You’ll Do Develop and review Plant Design & Piping (PD&P) layouts, drawings, and models. Create and manage 3D models of piping, HVAC, and equipment using SmartPlant S3D. Prepare detailed design documentation, including floor plans, isometrics, and fabrication drawings. Coordinate across disciplines to ensure design consistency and resolve model interferences. Support technical discussions and coordinate with stress, piping, and construction teams. Apply knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, IBC, ASME B31.3, plumbing codes, and ASHRAE standards. Ensure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Contribute to constructability and design review meetings. Qualifications Education & Experience : Level 1 : AA / AS or Certificate in Engineering / CAD with 7–8 years of experience, or 9–12 years of relevant work. Level 2 : AA / AS or Certificate in Engineering / CAD with 10–12 years of experience, or 12–14 years of relevant work. Required Skills : Hands-on experience with SmartPlant S3D. Strong understanding of PD&P systems design and construction coordination. Knowledge of design codes and standards for industrial or defense projects. U.S. Citizenship required (cannot accept Green Card holders or work visas). Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Preferred Experience : Prior work on DoD, DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, or USAF projects. Experience supporting complex infrastructure or defense facility projects. Schedule : Full-time, onsite (no remote option) Contract Duration : 1 year, with potential extension Pay : $75–$90 / hour (based on experience) Per Diem / Mobilization : Available for candidates located more than 50 miles from the project site
