General Accountability
Manages all activities associated with assigned projects, including the planning, scheduling, budgeting, documentation and oversight. Serves as the primary point of contact between NAFCO and the client. Represents the company in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
Responsibilities
- Duties include, but are not limited to the following :
- Ensures that all contractual terms and obligations of assigned projects are maintained and that deliverables are communicated effectively.
- Participates in internal project kickoff meetings with NAFCO's sales team to ensure that the estimated budget, contractual terms and proposals are understood.
- Ensures that projects meet budget requirements. Works with accounting to provide periodic cost forecasts to the Senior Project Manager. Ensures that project schedules are accurately communicated with production management in order to meet schedule requirements. Uses real-time information to track the progress of assigned projects and communicate internally and externally as required.
- Manages detailing to ensure the timely, accurate and cost effective delivery of detail drawings. Ensures that drawings meet project requirements and are in accordance with NAFCO and industry standards.
- Coordinates between various internal departments, including detailing, production, safety, purchasing, quality, accounting and client personnel as required, proactively identifies and manages issues.
- Identifies, requests and performs follow-up on required information from architects, engineers and owners.
- Provides accounting with regular billing information required to support invoicing per contract terms. Monitors job costs, billings and collections to ensure positive project cash flow.
- Assures proper accounting for project change orders and issue change order requests as needed.
- Manages other trades and subcontractors, including erection and any other scopes of work, when required.
- Evaluates costs and / or schedule impacts related to correspondences or changes.
- Travels to assigned job sites.
- Organizes and transmits all required submittal and close-out documents.
- Develops recovery plans to proactively mitigate or solve safety, quality, schedule or budget issues.
- Develops and maintains relationships with clients, subcontractors and others in the industry.
- Ensures all aspects of projects are properly and thoroughly documented to ensure NAFCO's interests are protected.
- Represents NAFCO at industry functions as assigned.
- Completes any and all additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Project Manager
Job Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field (business, marketing, engineering, etc.) preferred.5+ years' project management experience within the steel fabricating or construction industry.Advanced user in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).Experience with software commonly used in the steel fabricating industry (ie. SDS2, Tekla, BIM, etc.) preferred.Experience with software commonly used by the construction industry for scheduling (ie Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities / tasks, and possess strong organizational skills.Must possess a valid Driver's License and be able to travel throughout North America.NAFCO is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
