Electrical Estimator – Mission Critical

We’re representing a long-established and highly respected specialty contractor with over a century of success in the electrical sectors. The company combines cutting-edge technology with a strong family-oriented culture and continues to expand across commercial and industrial markets.
They are now seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join their growing pre-construction team. This is a full-time position focused on developing accurate, competitive bids for large-scale commercial electrical projects while collaborating closely with project management, operations, and field leadership teams.
The Role
As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a critical role in securing new work and supporting the company’s continued growth. You will analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare precise cost estimates and ensure projects are set up for success from the very beginning.
You will be responsible for :
- Reviewing bid documents, plans, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
- Performing detailed material take-offs and labor cost estimates for electrical systems
- Preparing and submitting accurate, competitive bids within required deadlines
- Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and vendors to clarify scope and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintaining up-to-date pricing databases and vendor relationships
- Assisting in design-build and value engineering efforts to improve project efficiency
- Identifying potential risks and opportunities that could impact cost or schedule
- Participating in pre-bid meetings and post-bid reviews as required
- Using estimating software and tools to maintain consistency and accuracy across all submissions
What You’ll Bring
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled professional with strong commercial estimating experience and a solid understanding of electrical systems.
You will ideally have :
5 or more years of experience estimating electrical construction projectsA degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience as a Journeyman Electrician with estimating backgroundIn-depth knowledge of electrical systems and construction methodsExperience with estimating and take-off software (Accubid preferred)Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and general project management toolsExcellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and time managementThe ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawingsStrong communication and negotiation skills when working with suppliers, clients, and internal teamsThe ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously and meet deadlinesWhat’s On Offer
