Job description

Job Summary

DEPARTMENT UPDATE : MBTA FARE REVENUE

The Partnerships Manager is responsible for mastering processes to turn ideas into initiatives and to generate revenue while maximizing customer value across the Network. The Partnerships Manager will work closely with a variety of internal MBTA teams to support the implementation and ongoing operations of revenue generating partnerships with third party vendors contractors and other government jurisdictions. Responsibilities include management of vendors internal business processes and stakeholders; building and monitoring performance dashboards; and managing the deployment of revenue-supported infrastructure both in the office and in the field at MBTA locations throughout the region such as digital information panels bus shelters secure micromobility parking and other amenities that improve our customers experience. The MBTA will rely on the Partnerships Manager to help drive revenue and provide value for the Authority and customers.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop tools processes and relationships to assist the department in launching identifying and tracking projects and needs.
  • Serve as project manager for assigned commercial projects.
  • Manage the MBTAs advertising and other related policies.
  • Manage day-to-day operations with the MBTAs Advertising and other commercial vendors and partners.
  • Analyze revenue and data to generate reports and dashboards.
  • Use data to provide recommendations for customer enhancement investments.
  • Establish project plans with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams and communicate with internal and external parties while meeting deadlines.
  • Function as a conduit for creative initiatives or projects.
  • Work across the organization to develop consensus and communicate decisions.
  • Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years of professional experience in project management marketing / advertising transportation / urban planning finance consulting or a related field
  • One (1) year of project management experience
  • Proven communications skills that compel an audience and conveys needs to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize projects and exercise effective problem-solving skills.
  • Adept at the Microsoft Office Suite including an ability to make high-quality presentations and willingness to learn and use productivity tools like Slack Airtable etc.
  • The ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Substitutions Include

  • A High School Diploma or GED with an additional seven (7) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelors degree requirement.
  • An associate degree from an accredited institution with an additional three (3) years of directly related experience substitutes for the bachelors degree requirement.
  • A masters degree in a related subject substitutes for two (2) years of general experience.
  • A nationally recognized certification or statewide / professional certification in a related field substitutes for one year of experience.
  • Preferred Experience and Required Skills

  • Experience in Tableau and / or SQL.
  • Knowledge of the MBTA system and its communities.
  • Job Conditions :

  • Ability to effectively read comprehend communicate and respond to instructions orders signs notices inquiries English.
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age except if participating in an approved high school internship / co-op program.
  • Ability to commute to assigned work locations in the Boston MA metro area as required by the role.
  • Ability to provide internal and external customers with courteous and professional experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a diverseworkforce team (or supervise if required).
  • Ability to uphold the rights and interests of the MBTA while building and maintaining effective relationships with employees and co-workers.
  • Ability to adhere to rules regulations collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) and policies of the MBTA including the EEO anti-discrimination anti-harassment and anti-retaliation policies.
  • Have a satisfactory work record for the two (2) years immediately prior to the closing date of this posting (unless if current student or recent graduate) including overall employment job performance discipline and safety records (infractions and / or offenses occurring after the closing of the posting and before the filling of a vacancy may preclude a candidate from consideration for selection).
  • Ability to pass a Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check comprehensive background screening and / or medical Clinic screening potentially including physical examination and drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Ability to work all shifts and / or locations assigned directed or necessary for this position including (for some transit / operations roles) up to twenty-four (24) hours per day seven (7) days per week as necessary to accommodate severe weather conditions emergencies or any other circumstances that may potentially impact service or the safety of service.
  • Intern / co-op staff must be enrolled full or part-time in an accredited educational program and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 for the entire duration of the internship / co-op. Additionally interns / co-ops must have valid work authorization and U.S. Social Security Numberprior to starting their positions and throughout the duration of their program.
