Join our dedicated team today!\n\nJob Summary : \nThe Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality nursing care through advanced two-way audio / visual technology in collaboration with bedside nurses. This role involves assessing vital signs and monitoring patient data using specialized software, enabling effective care for a diverse patient population. In addition to nursing assessments and treatment assistance, you will play a key role in mentoring department staff and elevating nursing practices across the healthcare system.\n\nThis position is not remote. While encompassing elements of virtual care, this is a full-time role based on-site at our facility.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n
- Conduct virtual nursing rounds using video conferencing to assess and care for patients.\n
- Deliver virtual health assessments and treatment recommendations from the Virtual Command Center.\n
- Collaboratively create, implement, and monitor individualized care plans with care teams.\n
- Work closely with patients, families, and the healthcare team to develop and communicate the plan of care, including discharge planning.\n
- Prioritize patient care according to needs, advocating for patient and family concerns.\n
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to enhance patient flow and meet organizational goals.\n
- Design and implement effective patient education strategies, assessing understanding to adapt teaching methods.\n
- Anticipate and address potential declines in patient conditions and respond to emergencies when necessary.\n
- Contribute to the development of hospital standards and guidelines.\n
- Support staff development by coaching nursing staff to achieve identified professional goals.\n
- Oversee preceptorships for new employees and students.\n
- Initiate and oversee projects that improve patient care and operational efficiency.\n
- Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance safety and quality scores.\n
- Serve as a clinical resource, creating informational and educational materials to enhance nursing practices.\n
- Document all interactions in the Electronic Medical Record accurately.\n
- Ensure effective reporting mechanisms are in place to track program outcomes and support quality improvement initiatives.\n

- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with experience as a Registered Nurse.\n
- Current RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.\n
- BSN degree required.\n
- Minimum of three years of acute care nursing experience.\n
- AHA BLS Provider CPR certification.\n
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.\n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\n
- Familiar with Windows applications and software pertinent to the role.\n\nPreferred : \n
- ANCC-recognized certification in a relevant specialty area.\n\nFor those hired into the External Temporary RN Program : \n
