About the role
We are seeking a Nuclear Quality Manager to lead the implementation and oversight of our ASME Sections III and VIII and NQA-1 Quality Assurance programs within our manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and quality standards while driving a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What you'll do
ASME Code Compliance :
- Lead the implementation, certification, and maintenance of ASME Sections III and VIII Certificates for nuclear and pressure vessel components.
- Serve as the company's Authorized Nuclear Inspector (ANI) liaison , ensuring all fabrication, testing, and documentation meet ASME Section III and VIII standards.
- Oversee the design, welding, material selection, inspection, and Non Destructive Examination (NDE) processes to comply with nuclear and pressure vessel codes.
NQA-1 Quality Assurance Leadership :
Develop, implement, and maintain an NQA-1 compliant Quality Assurance Program , ensuring full adherence to 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NRC regulations.Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and approvals to ensure Safety Related and non-safety related / special treatment item, material and component compliance.Establish and maintain processes for nonconformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.Lead internal and external audits, surveillances, and regulatory reviews with ASME, NRC, and industry stakeholders.Qualifications
Experience : 10 + years in nuclear manufacturing, QA, or ASME code compliance, preferably in nuclear reactor, SMR, or pressure vessel fabrication.Certifications (Preferred) : ASME Sections III and VIII Program Management, NQA-1 Lead Auditor , Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) , or equivalent.Education : Bachelor's in engineering, Materials Science, Quality Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).Preferred Skills and Experience
Leadership : Proven track record of leading nuclear QA programs, audits, and regulatory engagements.Technical Knowledge : Deep expertise in ASME Section III, VIII, NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ISO 19443, and nuclear regulatory standards.Ability to work independently and lead effectively with a strong work ethic, demonstrating innovation, attention to detail, initiative, positivity, and be people orientedAcute attention to detail to identify any issues or non-conformance during or after productionPositive response to challenges and changes of plans in a stressful and fast-paced environmentInternally motivated and driven to tackle problems autonomouslyStrong bias for action to address issues as soon as they ariseExcellent technical writing skills, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with management, technical teams, and all departments within the organization, along with strong problem-solving abilitiesCandidates only, no recruiters or agencies please.
