Theatre Shop Manager

Overview

Bala Cynwyd Middle School is looking for a Theatre Shop Manager to oversee BC Applause set construction. The position is responsible for managing the building and maintenance of sets and props. They ensure that all production elements are completed on time and within budget while collaborating with designers, supervising grown-up volunteers, and mentoring students. The Shop Manager is also responsible for training participants on tool use and safety. The successful applicant will work closely with the Director and other theater staff to provide a clean, safe, productive, and positive environment for all student cast and crew members.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the construction and maintenance of sets and props for BC Applause.
• Collaborate with designers and theater staff to ensure productions are completed on time and within budget.
• Supervise adult volunteers and mentor students involved in theatre productions.
• Train participants on proper tool use and safety practices.
• Support a safe, productive, and positive environment for student cast and crew members.
