Position Summary

Redwood’s Aspire platform is responsible for Alternative Credit Products which currently include Non-Qualified Mortgages (NQM) and Home Equity Investments (HEI). We are looking for an Analyst that can help grow the platform. The analyst will assist the Redwood Aspire Capital Markets team in a broad array of duties, tasks, and responsibilities which will include several trading, portfolio management and business development functions which are outlined in more detail below. The position will require strong quantitative, analytical and interpersonal skills. The analyst will embody someone who is a highly motivated, fast learner who takes direction well and can manage multiple tasks and responsibilities and work in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lock Desk

Maintain and update daily rate sheets and LLPAs for Redwood Aspire Expanded and DSCR Loan Products.

  • Accept rate lock requests, reviewing each request and communicating confirmation.
  • Assist clients in the automated registration and lock process via seller portal.
  • P rice underwriting exceptions identified by credit team.
  • Publish daily and intra-day pricing to the pricing engine.
  • Work with pricing engines to make adjustments to pricing engine.
  • Issue weekly reporting to sellers regarding lock status
  • Coordinate with relationship managers to maintain seller distribution lists.
  • Bulk Trading
  • Help analyze and manage bulk purchases, whole loan sales and securitizations.

  • Map seller tapes to internal data systems.
  • Conduct Pricing Analysis to determine bids and offers.
  • Identify Securitization populations and help manage securitization marketing and settlement process.
  • Prepare trade and securitization settlement schedules.
  • Maintain market data for bids, offers, securitizations.
  • Portfolio Management and Reporting
  • Produce daily, monthly, quarterly P&L summaries.

  • Run data edits checks and work with other internal groups to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
  • Monitor and report on locked pipeline activity.
  • Monitor hedge position and identify changes to market activity or changes to portfolio.
  • Help mark and manage positions in Investment Portfolio.
  • Monitor changes to loan population and conduct data reconciliations.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analytics.
  • Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree with a track record of strong academic performance.
  • 1-3 years financial experience a plus.
  • Understanding basic financial market principals including interest rate calculations and basic bond math.
  • Very detail oriented with an ability to multi-task numerous different projects in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, programming in VBA and / or Python a plus.
  • SQL skills a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability.
  • Self-managed, able to work well independently and within a small team.
  • Team player.
  • A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $68k-$91k. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
