Must-Have :

• Critical patient assessment skills
• Vasoactive and sedation drug administration
• Sterile technique
• Air management
• Laser and lithotripsy atherectomy skills
• Cardiac Cath Lab and peripheral IV skills

Description :

This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Cath Lab.

The unit has two Cath labs and two hybrid peripheral operating rooms.

Patients typically present with coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, diagnostic cath procedures, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease, Impella insertion, and LVAD insertions.

The nurse-patient ratio is 1 : 1.

The role requires operating in a high-pressure environment.

The nurse will be responsible for critical patient assessment and management.

Required education includes completion of a nursing program approved by a nursing board.

The recommended education for tech positions includes an AA / AAS degree.

Techs must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with coronary, complex PCI, and peripheral cases.

They must also be skilled in arrhythmia recognition and treatment.

The team is well-supported, but there are no CNAs or phlebotomy staff on the unit.

The charting system utilized is EPIC, with Epic Cupid preferred.

There may be an on-call requirement of 1-2 days per week and every fourth weekend.

Holiday coverage may be expected for one holiday per assignment.

Time off requests must be approved through unit management.

Scrub colors are procedural and provided by the facility.
