Responsibilities Position is based in a busy hospital acute care setting in the Emergency Department Assignment covers both adult and pediatric ER, with approximately half pediatric patient population 28-bed adult ER and 5-bed pediatric ER, with additional reclining chairs in each unit Night shifts, 12 hours in length, with every other weekend and 2 out of every 3 holidays required Float to Pediatric ER is required Uses Cerner EMR; experience preferred Patient ratios : ICU 1 : 2, pediatric ER 1 : 4, adult ER 1 : 4, procedural sedation 1 : 1 All acuities seen from minor to critically ill, including STEMI, stroke, respiratory failure, trauma, and psych holds Provide emergency care for a wide range of conditions including STEMI, CVA, burns, respiratory distress, and behavioral health cases Strong, team-oriented and traveler-friendly environment Orientation includes 12 hours plus meeting with the ER educator to ensure educational requirements are met Scrub colors : navy blue for RNs, cranberry for LVNs Must treat all team members, including EMS, with respect Participation in major holiday coverage is mandatory No block scheduling; schedule flexibility is expected Requirements Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted Minimum of 3 years recent Emergency Department RN experience Experience with both adult and pediatric ER required Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required Must pass EKG interpretation testing; advanced testing assigned to critical care RNs Significant pediatric ER experience is required for those working in peds ER No first-time travelers; prior travel experience required Will not consider travel teams or duos Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627359.
