TITLE : Sales & Operations Manager

REPORTS TO : General Manager

LOCATION : Raleigh, NC

SUMMARY : While overseeing sales, shipping, quality assurance, and the optimization of the repacking line, the Warehouse Sales & Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of warehouse processes and operational effectiveness.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Drive sales for value-added produce and sales through the warehouse
  • Planning, directing, and maintaining efficient pack / repack operations, implementing process improvements where necessary
  • Overseeing the pack / repack business to increase efficiency and maximize utilization of people and equipment
  • Develop a sales plan with emphasis on retail, wholesale and food service business and then execute the plan
  • Collaborating with the LMCO sales teams
  • Budgeting / efficient management of expenses
  • Overseeing the warehouse team – included but not limited to warehouse supervisors, transportation, sales, and quality control

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :

  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred - not required
  • Strong, positive communication skills
  • Knowledgeable and current in customer standards and regulations
  • Detail-oriented initiative-taker
  • Extensive product knowledge
  • Personal transportation, insurance, and valid Driver’s License required
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
  • EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :

  • High school diploma preferred but not required, or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience considered

  • Develop key customer lists and make visits / calls
  • Confirm or buy to retain adequate supplies to sell local customers – currently bells, cukes, squash, eggs – expand as needed
  • Help put together efficient team at the market – including shipping, driver, QA, and overall market manager
  • 6 Months

  • A measurable increase in sales / units / GP for profitability
  • Developed and expanding value added business
  • Collaborating with the sales team to develop plans
  • 9 to 12 Months

  • Help develop Operating Plan
  • Continue to expand value add and wholesale business
  • Utilize or maximize the usage of trucks in the local area between warehouses
