Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,754 per week in Charleston, SC

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : Nursing Specialty : PCU Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Night Hours per Shift : 12 hours Experience : Minimum of 1 year in PCU / Stepdown License : South Carolina or Multi-State / Compact State RN License Certifications : American Heart Association (AHA) BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have : PCU / Stepdown experience Description : The position is for a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty. The nurse will care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and assessment. Ratios are 1 : 3-1 : 4 based on patient acuity. The schedule consists of 3 twelve-hour night shifts from 7 : 00 PM to 7 : 30 AM. Holidays may be required as needed. Weekend shifts will be required, with an expectation of 4-5 weekends in a 4-week period. Floating to different areas may be necessary to meet facility needs. Candidates are accepted whether they have prior travel experience or not. It is required to have experience administering blood products and managing central lines. A solid understanding of dysrhythmias and isolation precautions is essential. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Nurses should be proficient in the use of Rapid Response and Code teams. Proper care and management of peripheral lines are necessary skills for this position. The unit provides care to a diverse patient population with varying diagnoses necessitating PCU-level treatment.
