We are seeking a seasoned Director of Accounting to lead the day-to-day operations of our client's Accounting Department. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals and ensuring that financial processes and reporting are executed in compliance with GAAP and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily operations of the Accounting Department and supervise assigned staff.
- Provide accounting support for organizational initiatives including new products / services, system upgrades, mergers / acquisitions, and expenditures.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of accounting infrastructure and general ledger systems.
- Ensure accurate financial transaction recording and compliance with applicable standards.
- Stay current with changes in accounting pronouncements and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Finance on financial statement preparation, budgeting, and asset / liability management.
- Lead staff training, development, and performance management.
- Implement cost- and time-saving processes to enhance departmental efficiency.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent certification.Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations.Proven experience with month-end and year-end close processes.Expertise in financial statement audits and reporting.Familiarity with intercompany accounting and federal tax regulations.Strong background in mergers and acquisitions accounting.Ability to manage and develop a team of accounting staff.Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
