POSITION : Part Time Activity Director - Parowan Senior Center

SALARY RANGE : $17.39 / hour

STATUS : PART TIME / NON-CAREER SERVICE POSITION

Iron County is accepting applications for the position of Activity Director in the Parowan Senior Center. This position will directly report to the Center Director and will work approximately 15 hours per week. Preference may be given to those applicants living in the Parowan / Paragonah area.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of duties and tasks related to planning, implementing and directing the Council on Aging (COA) programs and activities within the Senior Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must have and maintain a valid Utah Driver License in accordance with Iron County Personnel Policy Section 30.

Must maintain compliance with Iron County Vehicle Policy – including maintaining an acceptable driving record.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen and maintain compliance of Iron County drug and alcohol policies and guidelines.

Knowledge of COA programs and services.

Skill in customer service; working with and assisting seniors; maintaining organization and adhering to a set schedule with deadlines.

Ability to follow directions given both verbally and in writing; work unsupervised and accept responsibility for actions; communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; read, comprehend and apply rules, regulations and procedures; maintain confidentiality while working with sensitive information.
